CME program on the ICMR First 1000 Days of Life

Organised by: BMCH Department of Paediatric and St. John’s Medical College & Hospital, in collaboration with KHPT, Government of Karnataka (GoK), Indian Academy of Pediatrics (IAP), and COGA.

A Continuing Medical Education (CME) program on the ICMR First 1000 Days of Life was conducted by St. John’s Medical College & Hospital, in collaboration with KHPT, Government of Karnataka (GoK), Indian Academy of Pediatrics (IAP), and COGA. The session emphasized the critical importance of nutrition, maternal health, early childhood development, and evidence-based interventions during the first 1000 days—from conception to a child’s second birthday—aimed at improving long-term health outcomes and strengthening public health strategies. The event also featured a panel discussion on tracking High-Risk Pregnancies (HRP) and Quality care for sick newborn to achieve single-digit Stillbirth Rate (SBR) and Neonatal Mortality Rate (NMR).
